How to Install LibreOffice on a Chromebook

Alternately, you can install the Android version of LibreOffice via the Google Play Store. However, keep in mind that this version is still in beta and may not be as stable as the Linux version. From there, you can start using all of the office suite’s features, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and more.
Using Crostini Linux container you can easily install Libreoffice by running below code in your Linux container.
"sudo apt install libreoffice”
Copy above code without inverted commas and paste it in linux container,It will install an compatible version of Libreoffice on your chromebok.
How to install LibreOffice 7.1.4 and above on Chromebook?
By following above steps you can install an older version of Libreoffice on your Chromebook but if You want to have it all new with updated version of Libreoffice please follow below steps.
We are going to use Flathub for installing an updated version of Libreoffice in your chromebook with the help of the Flatpak package manager.
Flatpak is a software utility that allows you to install and manage applications in a sandboxed environment. This means that each application is isolated from the others and has its own set of resources.
To install LibreOffice on a Chromebook, you will first need to install Flatpak. You can do this by running the following command without inverted commas in a terminal:
"sudo apt install flatpak“
We will need to set the repository that tells the system where to look for the applicatiom we need. Now, to add the repository inter below code in a terminal without inverted commas:
“flatpak --user remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo“
Once Flatpak is installed, you can launch LibreOffice by running the following command:
“flatpak install flathub org.libreoffice.LibreOffice“
This process will install Libreoffice 7.1.4.2 versiom on your chromebook.
